I want to thank you and your husband to coming to speak with the ACOVA members. Your resource is such a vital service in our community and hearing it from you certainly brought to light lots of things for the volunteers.
We appreciate all that you do for the victims, the community and for ACOVA.

Recently a woman was referred to us for food. we gave her a shopping bag and she shopped for food, as you would in a grocery store. When it appeared she was done shopping, I looked over at her and tears were streaming down her face. Being concerned, I asked what was wrong. She replied, "It has been such a long time since I have been treated with "DIGNITY & RESPECT."
Isn't that what we all want......
Dolly & Larry are a typical couple who were about to retire until illness set in. On a fixed income
they somehow found us. Dolly says she likes the way she is treated with dignity & respect.
She knows that even Volunteers "can go the extra mile". She also likes coming to shop by appointment. That hug she receives also keeps her coming out with a big smile on her face.
Sometimes when someone calls for help it turns out to be more than a material need.
ENCOURAGEMENT and a listening ear and a quite prayer is what this lady really needed.
