"BEACON OF LIGHT"

WE ARE LOCATED ON A CORNER PROVIDING A "BEACON OF LIGHT" TO MANY, We have had abused children stop by for assistance, because they knew someone would help them. Others have stopped, just because. It seems to be a unique place. As long as you have a legitimate need. We will listen and encourage.

Typical contact is a phone call with Cyndi (director) who gathers information on help available and if appropriate, she makes the appointment.

Receipient arrives to be warmly greeted and a short unintrusive interview with a cup of coffee, or a bottle of water.

Depending on need either food, personal hygiene items, jacket, shoes, quality clothing, or furniture & household items. They are given "the tour" and also are invited to "join us for lunch" which our volunteer Ms. Dee blesses us with her "home cooking" some are in a hurry and take it "to go"

Shopping for food is like shopping in a grocery store. They grab a bag & shop for what they use. Some are shocked they actually pick out their own food and also have a choice of meats. Somedays, milk is available and bread & cakes are on the menu also. Many children receive a wonderful Birthday cake and parents can shop for a
gift. All free of charge. Many leave with grateful tears coming down their cheeks.

Some are reluctant to ask for help, but once they are served..they come back & donate their items they no longer need

Those who come with legitimate needs are welcome TO MAKE A THURSDAY  APPOINTMENT 542-0549. Leave a message & someone will return your call.

Our mission is to serve families who have lost employment or just can not make ends meet through no choice of their own. We serve Grandparents raising grand-children. Every situation is unique and we treat all needs on the individual basis

WE ALSO REFER TO OTHER AGENCIES WHO SPECIALIZE IN SPECIFIC  NEEDS

Those who receive our service are not just numbers in a book, their needs are treated according to their uniqueiness.
